Today my friend Russ Somers (@rsomers), Director of Marketing at Invodo, introduced me to Dave Neff (@daveiam) of Lights. Camera. Help. So of course, true to my roots, I did my research on him…and then I dropped him a line. We’re going to meet up soon and compare notes.

Lights. Camera. Help. is a nonprofit organization that it is dedicated to encouraging other nonprofit and cause-driven organizations to use film and video to tell their stories. At Affinity we are focused on finding opportunities to help organizations find ways to connect more with their communities, and cause-based organizations get more visibility – so this is right up our alley. I look forward to hearing more about how Dave is leveraging his network to provide visibility to nonprofits doing great work, and what types of trainings he’s doing for them. In particular I’m interested in hearing more about Project Action his program to connect creatives with nonprofit projects.

This type of connection is one of the reasons I moved to Austin 2 years ago – it is at the intersection of so many of my interests in one place. Technology, marketing, social media, nonprofit and of course a vibrant and growing entrepreneurial community. I can’t wait to see what’s around the corner!
